G. Bruce Charles, Senior Director

Bruce brings more than 30 years of experience in finance and mergers and acquisitions including senior management roles for Arthur Andersen & Co., Neptec Optical Solutions, Inc. and Johnson & Johnson. At Johnson & Johnson's Technicare Corporation, Bruce served as International Controller, Controller of Treasury Services and Director of Marketing before he accepted the position of President of the Johnson & Johnson Finance corporation (JJFC), a captive providing financing to the customers of Johnson & Johnson.

In August of 1995, after building the JJFC portfolio to more than $500 million, Bruce moved to become CEO and President of EyeCorp Inc., an ophthalmic physician practice management company. In less than one year, Bruce closed a 50-practice Private Placement Memorandum and merged the company with Physicians Resource Group, a NYSE company, for $160 Million.

At HFR, Bruce's responsibilities include outsourcing, origination, mergers and acquisitions, marketing and management. Bruce serves on the managements boards of Sentry Financial Corporation, Neptec Optical Solutions, Inc and The Data Company.

Bruce graduated Summa Cum Laude from Clarion State College with a BA in Accounting, received his Master of Accountancy degree from Bowling Green State University, and is a Vietnam veteran.

J. Peter Whiskeman, III, Senior Director of Franchising and Director of Equipment Finance

Pete brings more than 30 years of experience in franchising, equipment financing and marketing with companies including IBM, Matrix Funding, Dana Commercial Credit, InterContinental Hotels and Redwood Capital Advisors. Pete began his career at IBM moving from systems engineering to marketing roles in the company. His experience at IBM lead him to discover his own business opportunity. In 1977, Pete founded Camelback Computer Leasing, an equipment leasing company specializing in leasing high technology equipment to banking institutions. For the next twelve years, the company structured and financed a wide variety of high technology equipment, manufacturing equipment and rolling stock to companies in all 50 states.

After successfully launching this program. Pete joined Dana Commercial Credit Corporation (DCC) to expand the financial services it could offer to manufacturers, dealers and distributors of equipment. As Senior Vice President of the Vendor Finance Group of DCC, he developed programs to structure, finance and manage third party leasing programs from manufacturers. In 1993, Mr. Whiskeman spun off the Vendor Finance Group of DCC to form Lessor Capital Services (LCS) where he was ultimately responsible for the development of its vendor strategy and for managing its national sales force. During his tenure with LCS, he established a finance program for PepsiCo, Inc. designed to finance equipment purchases for Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC franchisees.

With HFR, Pete worked with InterContinental Hotels Group for 8 years to establish and manage a captive finance program that supports its franchisees in the developing, refinancing and refurbishing of Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites and Crowne Plaza brand hotels. Most recently Pete worked our a joint venture between HFR and Redwood Capital Advisors to create a new development financing program with debt and equity for developers of Cambria Suites hotels.

Pete holds a BS and Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.

Lyman D. Aldrich, Senior Director of Real Estate Financing

Lyman brings more than 30 years of experience to Hotel Finance Resource including senior positions with First Tennessee Bank, Dunbar Partners and L. D. Aldrich & Company. Having served as Vice President of First Tennessee Bank, N.S. for 9 years, Lyman then founded Aldrich Investment Corporation, a real estate development company recognized as a leader in the rejuvenation and gentrification of downtown Memphis. Lyman then became Managing Partner of Dunbar Partners, L.P., which provided real estate investment services to pension funds, pension fund advisors, and large corporations throughout the United States. Major clients included Xerox Financial, USAA Insurance Company, Health South Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Standard/APCOA, Inc.

Recognized for his achievements Lyman was awarded the American Marketing Association's "Marketer of the Year" award in 1981. Most recently, with HFR, Lyman was part of the FSW team that developed and managed a captive finance company for Intercontinental Hotels Group to support their franchisees in the refurbishment of Holiday Inns, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Crowne Plaza and InterContinental Hotels.

Lyman is a co-founder of the Memphis School of Banking (recently renamed the Barrett School of Banking) which has educated several thousand bankers from the southeast U S.

Lyman is a member, former executive committee and board member of the Society of International Business Fellows which co-founded the Central European Leadership Alliance in Istanbul, Turkey which educates future leaders from 9 countries annually. Lyman on behalf of SIBF has led international seminars to India, Southeast Asia, and China. Lyman is a former advisory board member of The University of Tennessee School of Health Sciences and Rhodes College. He currently serves on the steering committee for the improvement of the Collierville, Tenessee Historic District.

Lyman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi and a Graduate degree in Banking from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
